news & events event

dafodills

We’re sorry to say that for logistical reasons it has just not been possible to run this Outward Focused Ministry event in town for Shrove Tuesday (17 February).

We appreciate the disappointment as we know how much you love getting out on the streets and blessing our community in God’s name.

But, the good news is that we are planning to do a public giveaway after our Mother’s Day service outside St Peter’s Church on Sunday 15 March.

Being a special day we thought it would be fun to give out daffodils and chocolates to female passers-by. Hopefully, you can be a part of that wonderful occasion of serving someone with a small act of kindness then.

connect-cardMeanwhile, don’t forget, you can still do your own personal acts of kindness for a stranger, such as buy them a coffee, a newspaper or some flowers.

Why not pick up a few ‘SVV compliment cards’ on Sunday morning from the Welcome Point for your purse or wallet, so when you give something you can also give them all our compliments?

3236352Central Vineyard will be welcoming Robby Dawkins back to Northampton on 6th and 7th March 2015. Robby is is a much sought after speaker, as well as featuring in two of Darren Wilson’s films; Father of Lights and Furious Love.
Robby and his wife, Angie, married in 1992 and planted the Vineyard Church of Aurora in 1996. They felt a call to plant in a poor urban neighbourhood and it is estimated that they have seen over 50% of current attenders come to Christ through the church and almost 3/4 of those have come through “power” encounters with the Holy Spirit on the streets.

3941458Since 2013 Robby has been speaking and writing full time and is currently based out of the Vineyard Church of Central Illinois.  Having been in over 30 countries around the world, God has used him to help build the church internationally. He has ministered in many Muslim countries and in 2 of the top 10 most dangerous countries according to Voice of the Martyrs magazine.

The weekend will packed full of stuff to to equip us in our own ministries. We already have a few people from Stour Valley Vineyard heading up to this event so if you are interested and would like to hook up, contact the church office by email or telephone 01787 377670

For full details and to book your place head over to the Central Vineyard booking page.

Right Rev Sandy Millar at VineyardWe are delighted to have Bishop Sandy Millar, former vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) with us on Sunday 23 November at our morning service.

Sandy was the vicar at HTB  for over twenty years where he oversaw the vision and growth of Alpha, along with other initiatives such as The Marriage Course.

He and Annette were close friends of Vineyard founders John and Carol Wimber and remain dear friends of ours today. Sandy is an inspiration for many leaders and churches, inside and outside the Anglican church, and so it is joy to welcome him to Stour Valley Vineyard in November.

For more information, please contact the church office or ring 01787 377 670.
