Everyone has questions.

Exploring is good. We’re built for it. Explore more about life, faith and meaning with Alpha.

Alpha is a FREE 8 week course, starting on Wednesday 19 September, 7:30pm at the Vineyard Centre.  Each session looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. There is also the opportunity to ask questions and share your point of view; whether you’re a Christian or not.

If you have any questions email the team.

Why Alpha?

People do Alpha for a wide variety of reasons – some want to investigate whether God exists; others are concerned about what happens after death. Some people have particular questions that they would like to discuss; others want to understand other peoples’ beliefs or would like to explore what the purpose of life is. Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith.

Try Alpha!

Alpha is a fantastic series of sessions that gives people the opportunity to explore the Christian faith and the freedom to ask those all-important questions such as whether God exists, or about what happens after death, and what the purpose of life is, or what the bible says about things that they are currently experiencing in their life. Each of our sessions follows the Alpha format:

First up there’s Food

Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. Our sessions start with a pudding and a drink because it’s a great way to build community and get to know each other.

Then a Talk

The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Each one is a video played on a large screen, lasting around thirty minutes. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? to Why and how do I pray? and How does God guide us?

Followed by Discussion

Probably the most important part of our Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.

We hope to welcome you to our next course or maybe you know someone that would really benefit from joining an Alpha course.

Best wishes,

The Alpha team at Vineyard
