Lent is an important time in the Christian calender,it is a period of 40 days which comes before Easter. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, Christians replicate Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days. Lent is marked by fasting, both from food and festivities.

Maybe you grew up observing Lent, but need to get back in touch with the heart and meaning behind it. Maybe you´ve heard of Lent, but have no idea what it is. Maybe you’re new to Christianity or are still trying to figure out who Jesus is and why He matters.

The Lent Experience (TLE),  a free resource fromVineyard Cincinnati is designed to help you participate in this amazing season of the year that leads up to Easter.

You can find out more about TLE by watching the short introduction video below. To recieve your free resource sign up here.

It is always interesting to hear an outside perspective on our movement.

Greg Thompson, Senior Pastor of Trinity Church, Charlottesville (Presbyterian) gave three outstanding Bible studies to some 1,200 leaders at the Vineyard National Leaders’ Conference in January.

In the clip below Greg talks about his experience of coming to the UK. You realise just what an extraordinary bunch people we are mixing with in our movement. It is a humbling five minutes to listen to. Worth your time.

You can hear all talks again from the conference here.

Prayer (Black 1)

Come and learn how to pray in the power of the Holy Spirit!

Wednesday 10 February, 7.30pm at Assington Hall.

This session is open to everyone whether you are a beginner or would like a refresher in what you are already doing.

The ministry we like to offer is where the content and direction of prayer for a person is led by revelation from God and a willingness from a person to serve the other.  It is not counselling prayer, an intercessory time or a traditional prayer ministry time, though we value the place of all these things. It is intentionally non-religious, respectful and relaxed in style.

Have your eyes opened! Be inspired!

If this will be your first visit to Assington Hall you can download a map here. It is a lovely quiet, secluded venue  about 10-15mins from Sudbury.

See you there!

No need to book.

HOME-groups-page-banner

We are excited to announce that in addition to our existing HOME Groups we have a new daytime group starting on Thursday 14 January, 10.00am-12.00pm.

HOME Groups provide the perfect place for you to meet with friends, a place to meet with God, a place of support and encouragement, and a place to get to know people and be known. So if you are new to church or have been thinking about trying a HOME Group in 2016, you can find out about all our groups here. To find out venue details for any of our groups please contact the office on 01787 377670 or email.

Small_Groups_ShadowAll our groups differ slightly: a typical group would meet for a couple of hours each week. They will have a primary focus of exploring the Christian faith, and there will be prayer and worship, and probably drinks and biscuits.
