July, 2012

Sadly, we have made a reluctant decision to cancel this Saturday’s (21 July) proposed water giveaway. As the summer weather is not exactly overwhelmingly warm or sunny, and with a good chance of rain, we feel the idea of giving out a bottle of water will not quite have the same impact. Therefore, it makes sense to defer the giveaway to a later date.

The weathermen are suggesting that high pressure is coming and that we could well have an Indian Summer. If so, it would be better to do the giveaway in September instead. Really sorry for any disappointment. We never take any decision of cancellation lightly, so hope you understand. A huge “thank you” for all of you who had come back to me and agreed to help and had already put arrangements in place to come.

Also, just to clarify, we will no longer be meeting on Friday evening to stick labels to bottles. You can all have a pleasant and relaxing end of the week instead.

Meanwhile, we look forward to seeing you on Sunday morning at the Delphi.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one… http://t.co/nrMfKSY8

How well do you know your neighbour? It is difficult to follow the commandment to love them if we actually don’t know them. That’s why we have put together the Vineyard Barbecue Kit.

Don’t take the content too seriously, it’s just a bit of fun, but the sentiment behind it is a serious one. It is an easy way to reach with God’s love through building relationships down our street.

If you can’t get to church, contact the church office and we’ll send you out a Kit. All we ask is that you let us know when you are planning to hold it. it would also be good to hear your stories, however short. Have fun!

The guys are hanging out at the award-winning Melford Valley Tandoori Restaurant on Monday 23 July at 7.30 pm. We have an excellent fixed menu at £10 per person. The team at Melford Valley have added to the choices for this time round, so quite frankly it’s hard to know what’s not to like.

If you are of the male variety and new to Vineyard or feel you need to get out more, this is a great opportunity to get to know other guys over a meal and a pint. We will be joined by the Vineyard Football Team who recently successfully won the cup final against Ichthus, so we also shall be celebrating. We’ll also be joined by some guys from West Suffolk Vineyard too.  Dads feel free to bring sons!

Although we are not asking for money upfront, it would be helpful for practical reasons of catering if you can let the church office know if you are planning to come. (Drinks not included in set menu.)

Look forward to seeing you there.

We are holding a Planet Vineyard Vision Evening at our home on Monday 30 July at 8pm.

We invite parents and anyone who serves or is interested with Planet Vineyard, which includes Little Stars, Rockets and Supernovas, to come and hear about our plans to serve our young people in the Autumn.

Teaching and caring for children and young adults is both a privilege and a joy, but it is also a great responsibility. Being a growing family church, your support, input and prayers are invaluable to us.

We will be looking at the new curriculum, as well as health and safety aspects of the children. There will also be an opportunity to pray for our children. We recognise the holiday is season is nearly upon us, but It would be truly great to see as many of you as possible. Please contact the church office for venue details. Thank you.
