01_Duhok-Domiz-161Almost 2 million Syrian children have been forced to flee their homes.

The world has been shocked by the heart-breaking images of Syrian children appearing in the news over the past few weeks.  Its hard to ignore this crisis as people try to flea troubles in their own country. This year alone, more than 2,700 people have died trying to reach Europe, the majority of them drowning in the Mediterranean.

As a way of offering support to children in such terrible circumstances outside their control, a friend of Kerri Hellon-Warwick, a member of our church, is collecting socks and shoes for children in the Syrian refugee camps. We can do an amazingly generous, big-hearted thing today.

If you have any unwanted children’s socks or shoes that you would be happy to donate, please bring them to church this Sunday morning and hand to Kerri. The deadline for donations is next weekend (13.09.15).

For more details, please speak to Kerri Hellon-Warwick this week or contact the church office by email or phone: 01787 377 670 to be put in touch. Thank you.
