Harvest Post Banner

Join us on Sunday 2 October from 10:30am at the Delphi Centre, as we give thanks for Gods provision.

We have now been feeding people in our community for nearly 9 years and are ever hopeful that at some point Storehouse will no longer be needed, but, sadly, that time is far from near.

Last year our usage increased by 62% on 2014 and we have seen the need continue to rise in 2016. In the first quarter, we have helped 330 people who were in crisis and unable to afford food for themselves or their families.

Those who come to us are from all walks of life and all kinds of situations. For instance, we were able to help Trevor (not her his name). He told us:

I am Trevor, I am 21 yrs old and had my own flat, but couldn’t cope living by myself after my mum died and ended up in rent arrears.

As a result I was evicted and became homeless. I eventually got accommodation in supported housing and I got on to an access course to prepare for Uni. Because my circumstances had changed my benefits were stopped and I had no income. I was given a voucher for a food bag and met the Storehouse Team who were very supportive and prayed with me. Over the next 18mths I have visited Storehouse a number of times as I have continued to struggle financially because of my previous rent debt. Sometimes my benefit has been paid late because of bank holidays which left me with no money to live on. Storehouse has been a lifeline for me and I don’t know how I would have got through this period otherwise. I have almost paid up my debt now and am looking forward to moving into new accommodation and continuing with my studies.

If you would like to make a harvest contribution to Storehouse Foodbank you can leave your donation with us on a Sunday morning at the Delphi Centre or at one of our local Storehouse collection points.

Alternatively if you can’t get to us, we have an online giving page were you can give a one-off gift or set up a regular monthly gift that would support us in covering the running costsand help us sustain its growth and ability to keep serving our community.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
