Jill & Dave AdkinJill & Dave work for the Nsumbi Trust in Uganda supporting children and young people. Jill says:

“Our vision began 20 years ago when our Ugandan Director Stephen Jota was watching the children scavenging on the rubbish dump near his church.  He knew many of them through his church’s outreach work.  A lot of them were orphans and lived on the streets around his church in Kampala, Uganda.

He knew God wanted so much more for these children and he vowed that if resources became available he would build a Centre to help them.

Today, we run a Children’s Centre offering education for 500 children in a secure, caring environment and a Children’s Hostel providing a home to children without families.  We are currently building a secondary school and have a farm of about 100 acres where we are growing maize and other crops.

We are committed to helping the children who come into our Centre until they are old enough to support themselves. All are given the opportunity for primary and secondary education plus training in farming and brick making.  Some are now studying at university and others are undertaking skills training in things like motor mechanics, tailoring and hairdressing.

It is amazing to look back and see what God has done.  The vision of a small church in a poor area of Kampala has grown beyond their dreams.  It is now changing communities and is supported by individuals from all over the world.”

Join us on Sunday 10 July from 10:30am at the Delphi Centre to hear ore of Jill and Dave’s story.
