What could we all share at this time?

At this time of year many churches and schools will be preparing for Harvest. It is a traditional time of year we are thankful to God for the provisions He provides.

But for many it is time when many others have very little, but wonderfully gives us who are able an opportunity to share with those and make their experience better.

In the Stour Valley area there are families and individuals who are struggling to put food on the table. Maybe because of rising food and fuel costs. Maybe because of unexpected crises such as redundancy, illness, relationship breakdown, benefit delay or even an unexpected large bill. Whatever the reason, it means that they going hungry unless someone like you and I can help.

Could you donate a meal for harvest?

basket of foodWhether you are a church, school or organisation, you can help by donating any tinned and dried food to create a meal.

Our shopping list includes cereal, milk, sugar, tinned vegetables, tinned soup, pasta, rice, tinned meat and fish, fruit juice, biscuits, tea and coffee…

How to give

Once you have held your harvest event, food can be dropped off at the Storehouse office in the Christopher Centre on Gainsborough Street, Sudbury, or any one of our Storehouse Foodbank Collection Points. (See our webpage for details.)

We can also arrange to collect large donations. If a collection is required, please let us know as soon as you have the date of your harvest service/assembly and then we can make sure that we have someone and a vehicle available. Email or call 07973 710905 to arrange a collection of food.
