Eddie-Lyle-at-Vineyard

We are thrilled to welcome Eddie Lyle on Sunday 1st November at Stour Valley Vineyard.

Eddie is the president of Open Doors, UK & Ireland, an international ministry started 60 years ago by Brother Andrew to serve the most persecuted Christians in the world.

Come and be inspired in your own faith through the stories of ordinary Christians who are experiencing immense hardship in hostile, war-torn and troubled places like Syria and Iraq.

In many places, like in the Middle East and North Africa, the Church appears to be fighting for its survival. Yet, against the odds, the gospel continues to shine and amazing stories of God’s goodness are emerging, not least in the most closed countries on earth.

On this Sunday we have two services. In the morning, as usual, we meet at 10.30am in the Delphi Centre, Newton Road, Sudbury (map). Fresh coffee, cold drinks and pastries served from 10.15am. It Includes Planet Vineyard, our interactive programme for young children.

Then, in the evening, at 6.30pm we are hosting a Churches Together service at St John’s Methodist Church, York Road, Sudbury (map).

The theme is ‘Unshakeable Faith’. At this special joint service Eddie will be speaking particularly on the state of the persecuted church in Syria and the Middle East and how we can respond to their need. Coffee, cold drinks and doughnuts will be served from 6.15pm.

This day is a great opportunity to invite your friends and family to hear the gospel through a very topical and relevant issue for today’s world. We are expectant of God doing much in our hearts and minds.

Treasure Hunt Banner

Hear how to follow the Holy Spirit’s lead and do what Jesus did.

What is Treasure Hunting?

Simply put Teasure Hunting is asking God to reveal clues such as words of knowledge or pictures that you use to find people who need a supernatural encounter with God through an encouraging prophetic word or healing. This is not about preaching or arguing with people, but rather giving them a practical demonstration of the goodness of God. Through this fun and easy method you become empowered with confidence and competence to bring supernatural encounters to people around you. Through treasure hunts you can become a world changer, transforming your community one encounter at a time!

Join us for Treasure Hunt Training on Monday 6 July, 7.30pm at The Christopher Centre. the session will be led by Paul Green from SOLE which is associated wiht New Wine. He trains people how to use the gift of prophecy in everyday life.

We will then be putting what we learn at the training session into practice on Saturday 11 July. Meet at The Christopher Centre, then we’ll head out and go wherever God leads us, to bring hope and healing to people.

48 hours of nonstop prayer!

On the 12th – 14th June, St Gregory’s Church, Sudbury are hosting 48 hours of non stop prayer with the idea ‘that every household in the parish of St Gregory be given the opportunity to have prayer said for them’. You are invited to pop in at any time day or night to light a candle, explore the prayer stations, walk the labyrinth or just spend time reflecting quietly. There will be occasional services taking place throughout the weekend (see below for details), which all are welcome to attend. They will be held in the top part of the church and the rest of the church will remain open to visitors during these times.

Rev’d Helen Mitchell of St Gregory’s, explains the Prayer 48 promise:

“We have always prayed for the community, but we want everyone in and around our parish to know that, and to know that we are listening to what is on their hearts, so they know that God, too, is listening to them.”
“We promise that will pray for every request we receive and that there will be some-one in the church praying for Sudbury and its people every moment, day and night, for the whole 48 hours. ”

If you are unable able to make it along to the church for the prayer time you can always pick up a ‘prayer request postcard’ from St Gregory’s Church, simply fill it in and return it by posting it in one of the special green boxes at St Gregory’s Church, the Library, Roy’s, Waitrose, and Aldi. You can also request prayer exting 07754 869171, email , twitter or facebook
