Vineyard cup winners 2013A hearty congratulations to the Stour Valley Vineyard football team who have now pulled off two bits of silverware this season in the Fellowship Football.

Last night our guys had a resounding victory and won 4-1 against the Sudbury Baptist team in the Cup. This goes with the league title and is the second year in the row that Vineyard FC have won the cup.

Well done also to Ryan Houghton who was top goal scorer of the season. Impressive!

Finally, a huge thanks to our manager Antony Reed who has put so much effort in supporting our guys this season, but also we want to give a big shout out to all the team managers and players from the church teams who have made the competition what it is this season.

Come and join us for an hour of prayer tonight. We are meeting at Dave & Jenny Jones’ home. If you don’t usually come, it would be particularly great to see you. Suitable for all. See you there!

Bottles-in-grassWe are on the streets of Sudbury this Saturday outside the town hall giving away free drinks to shoppers.

As a church we love to serve our community by doing small acts of kindness to reflect a kind and generous God.

We hope you can join us for the hour. We’ll have our nearly legendary SVV gazebo out. It is loads of fun and suitable for all the family. Just turn up!

What’s more, the temperature is looking to climb this week, so just in time.

See you there!

JVJonathan Veira is doing a his popular one man show at St Peter & St Marys Church, Station Road West, Stowmarket, IP14 1ES this Friday, 14 June at 7:30pm.

Jonathan uses his voice and his skills as a musician on the piano and guitar together with his talents as a comedian and most of all communicator. This show goes from opera to pop and includes jazz; standards and even country and western along the way – everyone finds a song that they love in this show. Jonathan’s anecdotes and comments on life resonate with his guests which often result in great hilarity shared by all.

He is also known for his memorable appearances on Songs of Praise and at Spring Harvest. And should we dare to omit, he was also ASD’s best man at his wedding. Well, we thought you should know.

Tickets cost £8.50, including refreshments and are available from their church office. Please telephone 01449 774652 or contact them on their website.
