“Let justice roll down!”
This was the cry of the prophet Amos in response to the social corruption he saw in his day.
He saw prosperity rise up on the backs of the poor. He saw heels of power stepping on the necks of the weak. He saw hunger in the midst of the harvest. And in the midst of this situation God called him to stand and proclaim justice. And this is God’s call for Stour Valley Vineyard today!
In this series, we will look at what the Bible teaches about justice and the role that the church is to play in ushering in justice to our towns and cities. Whether we are someone who is passionate about this issue, or someone who is just beginning to think about it seriously, come prepared to be challenged to make the cry of the prophet Amos your passion and your prayer.
Subscribe to get your Daily Devotion email every day during our 24-7 Week of Prayer.
Each day contains a number of different elements, which includes an invitation into God’s presence, a Bible meditation, reflective space, free prayer and blessing.
Each daily devotion is designed to be experienced as prayer. This style of prayer might be new to you, but see it as an extended conversation with God. The Lord loves it when you find time to simply be with him and enjoy his presence.
You’ll have the freedom to use these daily spaces as you want and with the time you have. Pray what you can, and not what you should. Allow yourself to be prompted by the Holy Spirit – because when we surrender to his grace, anything can happen!
Your first Daily Devotion will be sent to you on Sunday 27 June.
For all you budding singers out there, there will be an extra choir practice this evening, 7.30pm at Wells Hall Old School.
